Rutgers!!

3-1 :)

Spent the day setting up the party room at work.

The first picture is before.

Tomorrow is the first party at House of Cupcakes Wayne.

I’ve been working for months to make this happen.

Nervous to say the least.

Tomorrow is the first party at House of Cupcakes Wayne.

I’ve been working for months to make this happen.

Nervous to say the least.

Tomorrow:

- Work 9:00-5:30
- Walk around Weehawken for some exercise

Guys don’t be too jealous!

Spent my day off showing my good friend around Weehawken….

And then I went to Zumba tonight.

Productive day.

Work.

This is what I’ve been up to.

Creating party contracts, setting up the party room, booking events for the company…

…and making sure the store looks good.

Found out I’ll be splitting my time between East Brunswick and Wayne. Ruthie owns both stores so she is trying to make my life easier. She also listens to me. She listens to my ideas. She treats me like I matter. I appreciate having a good boss who gives a crap.

Seriously, she’s such a wonderful person.

And she really is making an effort to make my life easier and I’m so grateful for that.

I’ve been under so much stress and dealing with so much uncertainty it’s nice to know at least Ruthie has my back.

So that’s a quick life update.

Starting at a new location today…

Yesterday was my last day at the Clifton location.

Today I start at Wayne.

With the company shakeup, the owner(and Cupcake Wars winner) asked me to help her run the Wayne store.

I adore Ruthie, she’s an amazing boss and amazing person so I agreed.

But I’m anxious. Realy anxious.

It’s a new store, with a lot of new people(some old too), and a lot of responsibility.

Ruthie keeps telling me I am just going to be doing what I was in Clifton, but I know I’ll have a lot more to do.

Breathe…just breathe…

These came in the mail today and it’s the best thing that has happened all week.

13 years ago changed so much for so many. The skyline has recovered and the Freedom Tower stands tall and proud, but so many will never be the same.

Never forget.

I will never forget the announcement made by the principal:
“Good morning, I’d like to take a minute to quickly let our students know that there has been an incident in New York City, and that if your parents work in the area they may be delayed returning home this evening.”

I will never forget walking into my home and my brother running up to me:
“THEY’RE GONE. THE TWIN TOWERS ARE GONE. THEY TOOK THEM DOWN.”

I will never forget the terror in my mother’s eyes when she couldn’t get a hold of my aunt, and the relief when we finally got a call that she got out before the second plane hit.

I will never forget my dad hugging me. He doesn’t hug.

I will never forget the lost look in my teachers eyes the day after.

I will never forget.

Peace to all of my friends mourning today.
Peace to my friend Sarah who lost her father.
Peace to my mother’s good friend who lost her husband.
Peace to all still seeking an answer as to how this could happen.

Kickboxing Kicked My Ass

Holy crap.

Back to the gym flow tonight.

Took kickboxing. It ends with core. My abs are shaking every time I breathe.

Coming home tomorrow to take Zumba tomorrow night.

I’ve gained a little bit of weight. Nothing unmanageable but it’ll take a little bit to get back to where I was.

This summer was a mess with work and my world being so crazy.

But I’m organizing my world and setting my goals.

Hope you all like me, because you’ll be seeing a lot more posts.

For now….I’m going to lay here and stare at the wall until I have the energy to move again.
